Mayor’s residents’ evenings

The City of Helsinki regularly organises Mayor’s residents’ evenings in each of the major districts of the capital to discuss local issues.

Do you feel your residential area and services are moving in in the right direction? What do you think about how your district has been developed? Mayor’s residents’ evenings are a forum for neighbourhood residents and representatives of the city to meet and have a dialogue about current topics in the district in question.

The evenings follow safe-space principles that create a respectful and inclusive atmosphere that is free of discrimination, harassment and violence.

Various resident associations and public interest organisations in the district act as collaborative partners in organising the event.

An invitation is sent out in the post to each of the residents in the area, and a video summary of the evening is available for viewing online on the Helsinki Channel shortly after the event.
No advance registration is required. Everyone that has received an invitation is welcome to participate.

It is possible to submit questions and suggestions for topics ahead of time by responding to a public survey in the city’s Voice your opinion service.
