Plenty of events to bring good cheer
Events abound in Grey Helsinki this autumn. One example is the 27 October–1 November art exhibition at the Kaapelitehdas Cable Factory titled “Miltä nuoruus tuntuu? (How does it feel to be young?)”. Another is the Ukrainian Drama Festival at the National Theatre, which will feature 12 performances between 15–21 November on the Maalamosali stage.
On 1 November, the “Kuoleman puutarhat (Gardens of Death)” event invites people of all ages to come experience a few of Helsinki’s lit-up cemeteries by night. The next day, 2 November, the Helsinki Winter Garden will host a Spacetime Journaling event, where participants are welcome to write, draw or just spend time in the city’s peaceful green oasis.
And the fun continues in late November. On 20 November, the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra will perform Sibelius’ First Symphony at the Music Centre, while the leading international tech and startup event Slush will take place at the Messukeskus Expo and Convention Centre on 19–20 November. That same weekend, Helsinki will host the ISU Grand Prix competition, which will gather the world’s top figure skaters at the Helsinki Ice Hall. You can find more fun events on the city's Events website.
