Projects help develop Helsinki Employment Services and provide new solutions for jobseekers, employers and young people.

Why do Helsinki Employment Services carry out projects?

Projects are a key part of the development of Helsinki Employment Services. They help us improve our services, try out new approaches and build cooperation that benefits all of Helsinki.

We carry out projects in collaboration with companies, organisations, educational institutions, universities, universities of applied sciences and other City partners. Some of our projects are funded through external funding, such as EU programmes.

Our projects:

  • develop services to support jobseeking and employment
  • provide new ways for employers to find talent
  • strengthen skills and improve the quality of services
  • test solutions that can be rolled out across Helsinki
  • utilise EU and ESF funding, for example.

Projects coordinated by Helsinki Employment Services

Ovet auki duuniin (Open doors to work)
The project promotes the employment of disadvantaged foreign-language jobseekers in labour shortage sectors by developing recruitment support services for employers and strengthening the skills of jobseekers.
Kykyä ja halua töihin (Ability and willingness to work)
The aim of the project is to develop an employment support model for people who have been unemployed for more than 12 months, combining IPS job coaching, health care and social welfare services supporting employment and close cooperation with employers.
International Talent Employment Service (ITES)
The objective of the service is to help immigrants with a higher education find a job in their field.
URA 2.0
A coaching service aimed at promoting the employment and integration of unaccompanied minors and other young people who have been granted international protection.

Partnership projects

Helsinki Employment Services also participate in projects coordinated by educational institutions, organisations, foundations or other City divisions, for example. As a partner, we provide an employment and skills perspective to projects and develop services together. 

ENOT - ennakoitua osaamista työelämään (Anticipated Skills for Working Life)
The project (ESF funding 1/2025 – 5/2027) aims to develop a collaborative model for workplaces and an accompanying workplace pedagogy guide to promote staff skills development through the use of digital tools.
Konkarit töihin! 2024-2026 (Keeping older employees at work)
The project will produce practical information on how to promote the employment of Finnish-speaking men over the age of 55.
