How can you move in with us, and how much does it cost?
You can move in with us following an assessment of your service needs. Find out more about how to apply for housing services for the elderly
24-hour service housing covers the care and treatment you need, activities that support your functional capacity, services related to meals, laundry and clothes care, washing and cleaning, as well as services that promote participation and social interaction.
You pay rent as well as a monthly fee based on your net income, to cover the services included in the 24-hour service housing.

What is it like to live at the Rubiini Group Home?
At the Rubiini Group Home, you can live your daily life in your own way in a safe and home-like environment. We listen to you and take your wishes, habits and abilities into account so that your everyday life is suitable and familiar to you.
We respect your privacy and your right of self-determination. You can participate in our joint activities whenever it suits you, or spend time by yourself in your room.
The Rubiini Group Home is intended for elderly people with memory disorders. Safety, a clear daily rhythm and a familiar environment support your wellbeing and make everyday life feel peaceful. Your everyday life is supported by a multi-disciplinary team which provides individual care around the clock.

The facilities support a safe and smooth daily life and a clear environment suitable for people with memory disorders.
Your room – your home
You will have your room with your own bathroom. The room is your home, and you can decorate it with your own furniture, textiles and important belongings. This makes the environment feel familiar and safe.
Common areas
Our group home has home-like common areas where you can spend time together with the other residents.
- The spacious and cosy living room is a meeting place for many people, where you can socialise, watch TV, chat and celebrate special occasions.
- The shared kitchen is the heart of the home. There we will prepare small treats together, bake and enjoy coffee.
- The gym and sensory room promote physical activity, refreshment and a sense of wellbeing.
- In the summer, we can use the balcony to plant flowers and herbs. The balcony is also a lovely place to sit, chat and enjoy the summer days.
If you wish, you can also participate in the shared events at the senior centre, such as concerts, festivities and outdoor events. Your loved ones are also welcome to use the common areas.
Meals
You will enjoy your meals in the common dining area with the others or in your own room. We take your meal preferences and your individual needs into consideration.
Mealtimes are peaceful and unhurried.
Garden and local environment
The parks, cultural landscapes and vicinity of the sea make the environment more comfortable and widen the possibilities for outdoor activities. We often spend time outdoors on our beautiful, garden-like yard with a cosy gazebo.

What is everyday life like with us?
The daily life is shaped according to the daily routines of the residents. The day includes
- care and support for everyday needs

- opportunities to participate in joint activities
You can participate in the shared events or small group activities. We engage in regular outdoor activities and encourage your mobility according to your abilities.
Information for family members and loved ones
Your loved ones can visit you at their convenience. We are well served by public transport. We don’t have our own parking spaces, but there are some paid parking spaces along the street.
Guests can:
- spend time with you in your room or in the common areas
- bring snacks and enjoy them with you
- visit the Onerva restaurant downstairs with you. The restaurant is open on weekdays at 8-15 (lunch 11-13.30). You can find the lunch menu here(Link leads to external service)
- bring a pet along, but please arrange this with the staff in advance.
Your loved ones can also take you out for a walk or to visit friends and family. Please let the staff know, either in advance or when you leave.

- Your appointed nurse will be by your side and take care of all your day-to-day needs.
- Practical nurses and nurses ensure your day-to-day care and wellbeing.
- Your doctor is responsible for your medical care.
- A social instructor can help you with matters related to services and life circumstances.
