At a physiotherapist's direct appointment, you will receive personalised advice and guidance for alleviating your symptoms and improving your ability to function.
If you have any knee, back or shoulder ailments, you can receive a physiotherapist's direct appointment by using the online symptom checker in the Omaolo service. You can also contact your health centre by phone to book an appointment with a physiotherapist if needed. You can find the contact information of your health station at hel.fi/healthstations.
How to Contact Us
You can quickly get in touch with a professional by using the digital Omaolo symptom checker.

Select the right checker for your symptoms:
Lower back pain or injury(Link leads to external service)
Shoulder pain, stiffness or injury(Link leads to external service)
- Log in to the service in the upper right corner by clicking ‘Log in’.
- At the start of the checker process, select ‘I think I need treatment and want to fill out a symptom checker’ and complete the checker.
- Select your health station as the local provider.
- When you receive the results, i.e. a symptom assessment, select ‘Continue to communicating with a professional ’ and then select ‘Continue to send’ and follow the instructions.
The Omaolo service is open around the clock, every day of the year. In urgent matters, we will contact you within two hours. In non-urgent matters, we will contact you the next weekday at the latest by phone or Omaolo message.
Please note! You cannot use the Omaolo service on behalf of another person. However, a person over the age of 15 can use the service with online identification.
Every health station has its own telephone number, which you can find on the health station’s website.
Telephone service hours:
- Mon–Thu 8.00–16.00
- Fri and the day before national holidays 8.00–15.00
If the lines are busy, you can submit a callback request. We will aim to call you back within the same day between 8.00 and 16.00. If we are unable to reach you the first time, we will try to call you a second time. We may also call you back during the weekend between 8.00 and 16.00.
